How to accept Christ as your Savior
We are all sinners, and each of us needs to acknowledge before God that we are sinners. That acknowledgement involves repentance, which is a genuine turning from sin toward God.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Acts 3:19. Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the LordThe only way a person can receive the gift of forgiveness is by faith in Jesus as God's Son.
Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
John 14:6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Confessing your faith in Jesus Christ means confessing Him as Savior and Lord.
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. . .
Romans 10:13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Pray a prayer similar to this:
"Dear God, I know I am a sinner and have rebelled against You in many ways. I believe Jesus died for my sin and only through faith in His death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I now turn from my sin and ask Jesus to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day forward, I will choose to follow Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for loving me and for forgiving me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
