Our Invitation
We invite you to become a vital part of the fellowship of Sunset
Baptist Church. During the invitation, you are invited to come
to the front where the pastor is waiting to welcome you. If you
are impressed by God's Spirit to unite with us, you can do so in
one of the following ways:
By Baptism
It may be that you now accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord
and Savior. We are excited for you! Let us share in your joy
and talk with you about it. You may follow the Lord's command
and join this church by publicly professing Christ and being
baptized into our fellowship.
It may be that you have placed your faith in Christ some time
in the past and have been a member of a church of another
denomination. If God is now leading you to join this church,
you may do so by reaffirming your faith in Christ and being
baptized into our fellowship. People joining our church from
another denomination will be received as candidates for baptism
on the basis of their profession of faith. This does not
minimize any baptism you have experienced. If your beliefs
are the same as ours we welcome you to join our church as a
candidate for baptism.
By Letter
It may be that you have already personally accepted Christ and
are a member of another Baptist church. If you feel led to
join this church, come during the time of invitation and
join our fellowship by letter. We will simply write your
former church, and they will send us your letter of membership.
By Statement
It may be that you have been a member of another Baptist
church, but for some reason your letter of membership
is not available from that church. We gladly invite you to join
on your statement of having personally accepted Christ and
having been baptized in another Baptist church.
If you are still uncertain about your situation or about
God's will in your life, please let us talk with you.
You may either come during the time of invitation or arrange for
a special meeting with the pastor. We want to help you.
